Panchimalco.
This town is the closes colonial town to San Salvador. Its pre-Columbian settlers where Toltecas. Is a place that has kept their traditions , in this days can be seen and lived. Its name in Nahuatl means “Place of Shields and Banners”. The church was built approximately in 1730 by the natives. Here you will also find the workshop of our “Michael Angelo” who paints children with big beautiful eyes. The celebrations during the festivities in the month of May are very colorful, time when you can still see native women wearing “refajos” weaved in a primitive way.
